About Child Friendly Shillong

Our Objectives

Form Child Rights Clubs to empower children as leaders and advocates.
Raise awareness about children’s rights, and build leadership and communication skills by bringing children onto common platforms.
Establish a Civil Society Forum of at least 20 key members to sustain child-friendly efforts in Shillong.
Create awareness among youths and adults about child rights and available services.
Foster community groups of committed adults to protect and promote child rights.

Vision

To create a city, town, community, and any system of local governance committed to fulfilling the rights of a child. A city where children and adults are aware of child rights and become leaders who can advocate for the rights of children in Shillong, where children's needs and priorities become an integral part of public policies, programmes, and decisions.

Mission

To develop a city where children are safe and protected from exploitation, violence, and abuse; a city where children can express themselves, participate in decision-making, and have a fair chance to grow holistically and become dignified members of society.
